Trucking 365 FAQs
Trucking 365 FAQs
Q: What is Trucking 365?
A: Trucking365 is a year-long project meant to highlight the truck driving industry, its drivers, and others who work to get everything everyone uses every single day across country.
Q: What is the purpose of Trucking365?
A: To highlight and showcase trucking by real truck drivers and industry people to the world. To show the good in trucking that many truckers don't see. And to show the general public that truck drivers are real people, with real if somewhat different lives out here on the road. Truck drivers have families, hardships, happiness, adventures, struggles, and everything that is LIFE happening while they are out on the road. My hope is to make truck drivers become real people in the eyes of the general public.
Q: How do I join the project?
A: First thing to do is to like the Trucking365 Facebook page: > https://facebook.com/Trucking365/> . You'll also want to bookmark and follow the website: > http://www.SweetLifeOfSierraSugar.com/Trucking365/> . These are the locations where all the information and updates will be posted, as well as the 365 posts once they start.
Next, send an email to: Trucking365.firstname.lastname@example.org
Include in your email your name, how many years you've been trucking or involved in the trucking community, and that you'd like to be involved in this project.
Q: How many people will you use?
A: 365 people. One post a day will be posted. A different person's story each day, for 365 consecutive days.
Q: What type of people are you looking for to participate in Trucking365?
A: I'm looking for anyone who is a truck driver or who is involved in the trucking industry. If you have been driving for 30 years or just finishing trucking school, I want to hear from you. If you are an Owner Operator or a company driver I want to hear from you. If you are a small fleet owner or the ride-along companion of a truck driver, I want to hear from you. I don't care how much or little experience you have. If you are in the trucking industry in any manner, I want to hear from you.
Q: What do I have to do to be part of Trucking 365 and share my story?
A: Pick a day, any day, and write about it. Tell me about your day in 365 words, or as close as you can get without going over 365 words.
Also, please also send me a picture of your truck, or your day that you are writing about, a picture of you, and a short 3-4 sentence bio to include (but not limited to) your name, nickname or CB handle, how long you've been driving, who you drive for, what type of freight you haul, the type of truck you drive or ride in, etc...
Q: Will you edit what I send in to you?
A: All submissions will be edited for spelling and grammar errors only.
Q: When will you start sharing posts online?
A: Launch date for Trucking365 is set for September 1, 2017. The first entry will go live that day. A new and different entry will be posted once a day, every day, for 365 days.
Q: When will my post show up online?
A: While I ask you to please date your entry, I cannot promise a specific date for your entry. If you are writing about Christmas day, for example, I will try to get your post up on Christmas day, or as close to it. But please keep in mind, if you are writing about your day dated 10/23/2017, and want it posted on that date because it is your birthday or other special occasion, your post will not actually show up online until 10/23/2018.
My hope is to collect 20-30 entries, at minimum, between now and September 1st. I will edit, organize, and get those first entries scheduled to go online, then continue collecting entries until I have 365 total.
Once I have your entry scheduled to go live, I will email or message you with the date. On the day that it goes live online I will message or email you the link.
Q: Where will my entry be posted?
A: Initially, your submissions, along with the pictures and bio will be posted at > http://www.SweetLifeOfSierraSugar.com/Trucking365/> , as well as on > https://facebook.com/Trucking365/> . Please expect these posts to be shared across social media, to include various Facebook pages and groups, twitter, Google+, even LinkedIn. Remember, the goal is to highlight the ins and outs of the trucking industry for the world to see.
Q: What happens when all 365 days are over?
A: After a year of collecting, editing, and posting your stories online for the world to see, I plan to take all 365 entries and turn it into a book. Each of you that agree to participate in this project will receive a release form giving permission to use your story and pictures both online and for printed media. Please do not sign up if you are not willing to allow this.
Q: Will I get paid for participating in Trucking365?
A: There will be no monetary remuneration (payment) for participation in this project. All submissions will become the property of Trucking365 and Sierra Sugar.
