12 Days of Christmas – Gift Ideas for the Trucker in Your Life Day 6
Safety has been a big theme during this list of Christmas Gift ideas. Today included. A common phrase every truck driver hears from their loved ones is “please be safe.” It is that not my, or your trucker is an unsafe driver. In fact most truckers are some of the safest drivers out on the road. It is the other person we're worried about. Statistic prove that in accidents between semi trucks and cars, in an overwhelming majority of the cases the car driver is at fault.
Today's item by Mobile Spec is something that is useful everyday, but has added functionality for helping in an emergency situation. Mobile Spec makes many electronics and accessories for truckers. Their product line includes Cbs, chargers, headsets, earbuds, cords, and inverters to name a few. You know the old Boy Scout motto “Be prepared?” Well, you can be assured your trucker will be prepared with this Mobile Spec charger with glass punch and seat belt cutter.
This Mobile Spec Charger comes with dual ports for charging two electronics at once, and 2.4amps of charging power, which makes it great for smartphones and tablets. The entire charger is sturdy with a bit of weight to it. The metal construction comes to a pointed tip designed to break glass, IE a windshield or side window of a vehicle. Also included on the side is a seat belt cutter. This, along with other Mobile Spec items can be found in truck stops across America, on Amazon, and other online distributors.
Naturally we never want to imagine our loved one in any type of situation where either of these emergency items would be needed. But having these items and never needing to use them is better than needing a glass punch or seat belt cutter and not having one. I have personally witnessed Allen pull two drivers from truck fires. In one he had to use a pocket knife he thankfully carries with him to cut a driver from his seat belt. In the other the driver was sleeping and Allen was trying to break the passenger window glass to get to him. Thankfully the driver woke up in time. In both cases, this item would have been helpful.
