It is not the physical miles between that make or break a relationship, it is the distance between hearts.
Rabbit holes aren't fun when you are unceremoniously yanked from from them while being swirled around like a washing machine on spin cycle.
“Stone Creek Four has an eclectic sound, playing anything from country, classic rock, Motown and blues, and everything in between.”
This was way too easy to make and it turned out absolutely delicious for literally taking only 5 minutes to put together!
To say it was divine would be an understatement! It has a unique rich flavor all its own that even now makes my mouth water to think about it.
With no more veggies to put in the jar, and being snowed in off of I-80 in Wyoming, I was left with over half a jar of this flavorful juice.
If the weather is cold, rainy, or otherwise not pleasant to be out walking in, cooking in the truck gives the added benefit of not having to bundle up in layers and/or rain gear just to get something to eat.
Our traditional Cuban Key West dinner is the La Chon (the pork), black beans and rice, maybe fried plantains, hot Cuban bread, and for dessert, key lime and sour orange pies. These are eaten late on Christmas eve with family and friends.
Another night, another dinner in the Sugar Shack. This is one that is more involved, but still turned out delicious. We had crispy oven fried chicken breast tenders stuffed with cream cheese over a bed of rice, yellow summer squash with onions, and a garnish of fresh strawberry roses and sliced avocado. Yes, I enjoy serving him pretty dishes sometimes too.
When you're on the road having a home-cooked meal can be a much needed treat at the end of a long day. Truck stop food is basically all the same, except for the few small mom and pop places that are left. So cooking in our W900 is a nice break from the routine.
I found this recipe a little while ago and have been wanting to give it a try. On our way across I-80 in the middle of Nebraska seemed like a good enough time as any. Truck stop food gets old, and we've had far too much of it lately. Thankfully, I'm starting to get back into the habit of cooking in the truck, and enjoying it again...
